The Director

Direct every line.Keep only the takes you love.

Hear a line, give it a note, hear it again. Same character, same voice; your direction. Nothing changes until you keep it.

“Just tell me my David isn’t dying!”

Pick a note

“barely a whisper, holding back tears”

Nothing changes until you keep a take.

Poison Chairs, chapter one, with its production cast. “Original” is the line as produced, with no note; every take is real output from Marvox’s Director, rendered October 4, 2026. Dr. Galveston’s original was re-read with its production reading because the produced read repeated a word. These notes are samples: in Marvox you write your own. AI-narrated, used with the author’s permission.

How a note works

Three steps. As many takes as you want.

The Director works on the finished performance, one line at a time, so you shape the audiobook the way a director shapes a session.

  1. 1

    Give a note

Pick any produced line and say how it should be read, in plain words: “barely a whisper”, “firmer”, “she’s had enough”.

  2. 2

    Hear the retake

Marvox reads that one line again with the same character, the same voice, and the lines around it for context. Nothing changes until you decide.

  3. 3

    Keep it

Keep the take and it becomes the line in your book. The next production replays it and re-renders only the lines your notes touch.

With each retake, the character answers your note in a line of text, in their own words.

What a retake costs

A change of mind shouldn’t cost a studio day.

In a studio, a changed line means booking a pickup session. In Marvox it means one line of audio.

A retake is one line

Re-directing a line is free. A retake changes that one line and is not counted against your book.

Hearing is free

Auditions, voice previews and hearing a fixed pronunciation cost nothing either.

Keeping is free

Keeping a take, or removing a note, costs nothing extra. No booth, no rebooking, no pickup session.

When the book changes

Revise the manuscript. See exactly what moved.

Change a chapter and Marvox’s revision-impact check shows which characters, pronunciations and lines the change touches, before you produce anything again.

So a revision becomes a review of what moved, not a re-recording of the whole book.

Your book, directed by you.
